Lydia Loveless - Bloodshot Records

Palpable emotion rings front and center for Lydia Loveless, the alt-country
singer with a punk attitude. Raw, raucous honky-tonk defines
Indestructible Machine, her Bloodshot Records debut and burst onto the
national scene in 2011. On 2014’s Somewhere Else, Lydia (née Lydia
Ankrom) honed in on her revealing, relationship-driven lyrical chops
and soulful, twangy vocals. Insightful, nostalgic songs of longing and
heartbreak beyond her years — she was just 23 at the time —
characterize the record. 2016’s Real is sleeker, with a more alt rock-
oriented sound, but she’s just as incisive and, well, real.
